what we believe / doctrine
- There is only one Eternal God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit – Isaiah 43:10-11, 1 Corinthians 8:6, Psalm 90:2.
- The Lordship and sovereignty of Jesus Christ in the life of believers – 1 Corinthians 12:3,
- We believe in his eternal preexistence – Colossiens 1:17.
- He came in the flesh – John 1:1, 14, 18.
- He was born of the virgin Marie – Mathew 1:18, Luke 1:34-35.
- We believe in his perfect deity – John 1:1, John 5:18, Colossians 2:9.
- We believe in his perfect humanity exempt from sin – Hebrews 4:15
- We believe in his redemptive and expiatory death, fully sufficient in itself – 1 John 2:12, Hebrews 9:12, Hebrews10:14.
- We believe in his resurrection – Marc 16:6, Luke 24:39, and in his bodily ascension to heaven – Acts 1:11
- We believe in his current ministry of high priest from the ascension – Romans 8:31-34, Hebrews 4:14, Hebrews 8:1-12, and in his unique mediation at the right hand the Father – 1 Timothy 2:5.
- We believe that it is by Jesus Christ alone that man can be saved – John 14:6, Acts 4:12, and in his name alone believers should and can pray – John 14:13.
- We believe in his personal and visible return in power and glory – Matthew 24:30, to judge and to reign – Acts 17:31, Matthew 16:27-28, 1 Peter 4:5, Revelation 22:12.
- We believe the Bible was divinely inspired and is eternally reliable, we believe in its supreme authority for all matters of faith and conduct – 2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1: 19-21, Matthew 5:17, Matthew 22:29, Romans 15:4.
- We believe the sinful and guilty condition of every man attracts God’s condemnation – Romains 3:23, Romans 6:23.
- We believe in the redemption from sin and its consequences for all men, through the expiatory death of Jesus Christ – Romans 6:23, Isaiah 53:6.
- We believe sinners are made righteous by the grace of God through the unique means of faith, excluding all resort to works.
- We believe in the Holy Spirit and his deity – Acts 5:3-4, and to his eternal character – John 16:13-15:
- From repentance and the new birth, the Holy Spirit abides in all those who are saved by Jesus Christ – Romans 8:9, 1 Corinthians 12:13.
- We believe in the work of the holy Spirit in the church, giving each child of God the power to live a holy life, to testify and to serve in his local church and the world – 1 Peter 4:2-4.
- We believe that the divine law is written in the heart of the believer, and that the anointing of God makes him understand it – Hebrews 8:8-10, 1 John 2:20.
- We believe the Holy Spirit distributes sovereignly one or more gifts to each member of the body of Christ for joint edification – 1 Corinthians 12:4-11, Romans 12:3-8, 1 Peter 4; 10-11.
- We believe the church, the body of Christ is one, holy and universal, gathering all the true believers – 1 Corinthians 12: 12-13, Acts 2:47, Romans 4:16, Colossians 1:18, Ephesians 4:1-6.
- We believe in the eternal dwelling of the saints with God, and the eternal separation of non-believers from God.
- We believe the universal church finds its visible expression in every local church – 1 Corinthians 1:2, no matter the location, built according to the example and the teachings of the new testament – 1 Timothy 3: 14-15, 1 Corinthians 14: 33b, 1 Corinthians 16:1.
- We believe two symbols have been ordained for the believer:
- Baptism by immersion, symbolizing death and resurrection with Christ – Matthew 28:19, Acts 2:41, Acts 8:12.
- The Lord’s supper under two aspects: Its commemoration until he returns, the accomplished work of Jesus Christ at the cross once and for all – 1 Corinthians 1:26, Hebrews 10:10-14.
- We believe that the leadership of each local church is given by the Lord to men he calls and qualifies with spiritual gifts necessary for the exercising of their ministry – Acts 14:23, Romans 12:4-8, 1 Peter 4:11.
- However, the calling, gifts and acknowledgement of their charge does not attribute supremacy, or special powers – Acts 10:25-26, Galatians 2:11, Colossians 2:28.
- We believe in the rapture of the church – 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, 1 Corinthians 15:51-52, and in the resurrection of all men – John 5:28-29, Acts 10:42.
- Those who are saved will resurrect for eternal life – John 11:25, 1 Peter 1:3-5, and those who are lost will be resurrected for judgment, followed by eternal chastisement – John 5:29, Matthew 25:46.
- We believe that civil authorities are instituted by God for the moral well being and the peace of nations, and that God commands believers to submit to them – Matthew 22:17-21, Romans 13:1-7, 1 Timothy 2:1-4.
- However, in the case of conflict between the will of God and the law of men, obedience to God in his word prevails – Acts 4:19, 5:29.
- We believe that marriage is a divine institution, and is between one man and one woman solely – Genesis 2:24, Ephesians 5:25, Hebrews 13:4.
